Mr Lloyd was appointed as consultant general, colorectal and laparoscopic surgeon at the Lister Hospital in 2011. He completed my higher surgical training in Leicester and gained further expertise by undertaking a specialist laparoscopic colorectal fellowship at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2010.
He has a particular interest in laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Other specialist interests include laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallstones, laparoscopic hernia surgery (inguinal and incisional), colonoscopy and the treatment of perianal conditions (haemorrhoids, fistula, fissure, pilonidal sinus). He has previously held the posts of Clinical Director for General Surgery and Colorectal Cancer MDT lead at Lister Hospital and is a University of Cambridge senior clinical tutor.
He has a high volume general and colorectal surgery practice and is an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Programme colonoscopist.
