After attending Dulwich College, Mr Chatoo studied medicine at St Georges Hospital Medical School and undertook orthopaedic training on the North Thames Rotation with time spent at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.
He undertook specialist fellowship training at New York University Medical Centre and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East & North Herts NHS Trust in 2003.
His practice involves treating patients of all age groups with knee problems ranging from sports injuries to arthritis. Mr Chatoo can provide the appropriate treatment whether this is non operative or operative and has close links with local physiotherapists to ensure you obtain the optimal outcome.
Mr Chatoo carries out the latest keyhole techniques for the management of ACL/cruciate ligament and meniscal/cartilage injuries. He performs the majority of primary and revision ACL/cruciate ligament reconstructions at the East & North Herts Trust.
Mr Chatoo has considerable experience in managing the young patient with arthritis of the knee, performing knee sparing procedures such as high tibial and distal femoral osteotomies. He was invited faculty on the Basingstoke Knee Osteotomy Masterclass in 2020 which is an Internationally recongnised meeting held every 2 years. Mr Chatoo setup the Knee Osteotomy Unit at Lister Hospital in Stevenage which is now one of the highest volume Knee Osteotomy Units in the UK and the Unit is collecting data on long term outcomes.
He also carries out unicompartmental knee replacements as well as primary and revision total knee replacements including MRI/CT planned custom knee replacement surgery.
Mr Chatoo is also interested in patellofemoral problems such as dislocating kneecaps and can carry out minimally invasive patellar stabilisation surgery.
