Ms Jeyarah started as a consultant with the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in October
2017. She is one of a minority of female colorectal surgeons nationally.
She qualified from Nottingham University Medical School and completed higher surgical training in the North East Thames region, with a final year in Specialty Laparoscopic training. She is also newly trained in Robotic Colorectal Surgery.
During the course of her training, she has completed her research degree in Diverticular Disease and Epidemiology at Kings College London. In addition, she has worked on design and project management for surgical simulation applications for both educational and theatre work flow settings. She is also a faculty member of the CCrISP, ATLS and Basic Surgical Skills courses – forming part of the National Surgical Higher Training Selection Committee.
Her interests include surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, gall bladder disease, hernia surgery and all minor proctological conditions. She performs lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy.
She has sub-specialist expertise in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Ms Jeyarajah is married and has two children, is an active long-distance runner, enjoys playing tennis and is a keen baker.
