Dr Nicola Anyamene is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. She specialises in the treatment of colorectal, urological and upper GI malignancies:
• Colorectal (bowel) cancer
• Urological oncology
• Upper gastro-intestinal disease
Dr Anyamene treats patients in the radical and palliative setting with radiotherapy (including Cyberknife), chemotherapy, hormone therapies and biological agents.
She has active research interests and is the Principal Investigator for colorectal trials and urology trials, playing an active role in the trials research teams in Colorectal, Urology and Upper GI.
Dr Anyamene has previously held posts at the Institute of Oncology UCL Hospitals NHS Trust, North Middlesex Hospital, Cookridge Hospital Leeds Hospital NHS Trust and St Georges Hospital NHS Trust.
Dr Anyamene has been the recipient of a number of awards including the Hetley & Atchinson Prize MBBS Finals (Clinical) and Philip Seth Belasco & Douglas Cree Prize Medicine.
Dr Anyamene is committed to maintaining a first class standard of postgraduate medical education and training at Mount Vernon Hospital. She has been a Clinical Tutor at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, and a tutor for the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Radiologists. She has also sat on a number of advisory boards including the Speciality Training Board Royal College of Radiologists, RCR Appointments Advisory Committee, Emergency Care Quality Improvement Team and the Prostate Quality Improvement Team, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
