Tim Lane has been Consultant Urological Surgeon at East and North Herts for nearly 5 years. His main interests are those of minimal access ‘keyhole’ surgery involving Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery for the treatment of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. He is Clinical Lecturer in Urological Cancer at Queen Mary Westfield School of Medicine. Other interests include the use of lasers and urinary stone disease, urinary tract infection and erectile dysfunction and infertility. His major research interest involves chromosomal translocations and their role in the development of cancer-inducing fusion genes. He has been awarded a number of national and international awards including the C.E. Alken Award, Bard Silver Medal and the Urological Research Society Medal of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Tim has published a large number of papers, abstracts and book chapters over the years. Tim is also Unit Training Director for Urology and Clinical Tutor at East and North Herts NHS Trust.
