Urology

Private Urology Services are provided for both adults and children and are delivered at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

Urology is a speciality in which we treat patients with diseases of the urinary and genital tract. It is mainly a surgical specialty with highly technical equipment including telescopes, laser, laparoscopic (keyhole) and robotic operations. We provide standard urological procedures privately as well as some specialist procedures for example the robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy with enhanced nerve sparing, Robotic Cystectomy and Robotic Urinary diversion (Ileal conduit and neobladder) and Robotic Partial Nephrectomy / Robotic Nephrectomy. Our state of the art diagnostic facilities include Transpernieal precision point prostate biopsies, 3T Multiparametic MRI of prostate and Blue light Bladder tumour resection.

Our main base is at Lister with private inpatients being admitted (where available) into one of our dedicated private rooms on Swift Ward.

Outpatients clinics are provided at the Lister, QEII and Hertford County hospitals.

The department is led by a team of consultants, supported by a team of junior doctors. specialist nurses, specialist theatre staff and an administrative team.

Private Urology Outpatient appointments are available at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, QEII in Welwyn Garden City and Hertford County.

Private Inpatient procedures and daycase services are provided at the main Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
