Miss Christine Gan qualified from Oxford University in 2008, then underwent Urology specialty training in the North-west London deanery. She undertook 2 years of clinical research at Guy’s Hospital London, with a focus on non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. She was appointed as a consultant at Lister Hospital in Stevenage in 2019.
Miss Gan has a clinical interest in the diagnosis and management of Urological cancers. She co-leads the local anaesthetic transperineal prostate biopsy programme at Lister, and also developed East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust’s trans-urethral laser ablation (TULA) service for the outpatient treatment of small bladder tumours.
Her other area of interest is in treating men with urinary problems secondary to an enlarged prostate (BPH). In addition to the usual surgical options for BPH, she also offers holmium laser surgery (HoLEP) and Rezum water vapour therapy.
